Founded by Basil R N Mavroleon, the Anchor group of companies has been representing hedge funds to the institutional marketplace since its inception in 1993. It provides access to an extensive global network of alternative investors, including family offices, private banks, insurance companies, funds of funds and pension funds, and has raised in excess of $5 billion for its clients since inception. Anchor Asset Management has been associated with some of the best performing names in the industry. It is regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
Basil R N Mavroleon was born in 1962 and graduated from Boston University in 1986 with a BA in History. In 1987, Mr. Mavroleon joined Kidder Peabody and Co ("Kidder"), where he was a Vice President with responsibility for marketing offshore funds to non-US clients. Mr. Mavroleon left Kidder in August 1993 to form Anchor Asset Management.
